Informative workshops that can help you find employment.

Job Zone d’emploi offers informative workshops on various topics that can help you prepare to find employment. The workshops have been designed to work together as a series and to complement each other – however, you can attend any available workshops, at any time.

Smart Serve Workshops

Are you interested in working in the Hospitality Industry? Did you know that anyone who serves or handles alcohol in a licensed establishment in Ontario must be certified by Smart Serve? Job Zone d’emploi is offering Smart Serve training in a group setting. It is comprised of five modules containing video clips, interactive discussions and quizzes as well as the final Certification Test.

NOTE: $30 for materials and test payable, in cash, before the workshop.

*ID is required- must be 18 years of age to serve alcohol

Second Career Workshops

Second Career is a program funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to help laid-off Ontarians participate in training for a new career. If you were laid off after January 1st 2005 and you are currently unemployed, you may be eligible to apply. The Second Career Information session will provide information on eligibility and suitability criteria and will discuss the financial support that may be available. This session will also review how to complete the application and provide direction for next steps in the process.

Workshop for Mature and Experienced Job Seekers

Clearly, success can come at any age; however, that doesn’t make finding a job after a certain age any easier. What can you do to address age bias and promote your candidacy for employment? Attend this workshop to learn the strategies older job seekers can implement to help expedite a job search and to find gainful, and meaningful, employment.
