Second Career Workshops

Second Career is a program funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development to help laid-off Ontarians participate in training for a new career. If you were laid off after January 1st 2005 and you are currently unemployed, you may be eligible to apply. The Second Career Information session will provide information on eligibility and suitability criteria and will discuss the financial support that may be available. This session will also review how to complete the application and provide direction for next steps in the process.

Smart Serve Workshops

Are you interested in working in the Hospitality Industry? Did you know that anyone who serves or handles alcohol in a licensed establishment in Ontario must be certified by Smart Serve? Job Zone d’emploi is offering Smart Serve training in a group setting. It is comprised of five modules containing video clips, interactive discussions and quizzes as well as the final Certification Test.

NOTE: $30 for materials and test payable, in cash, before the workshop.

*ID is required- must be 18 years of age to serve alcohol
